Seagulls stands directly on the pebble beach at Pevensey Bay, a stylish, dog friendly family home with sea views, room for seven and two dogs, and the character of a 1920s seaside holiday house. It is assessed every year by Visit England and holds a four star rating, and there is direct access to the beach from the house.
Out front, a large decked area is made for whiling away the hours looking out to sea. Inside, the spacious living room has comfortable seating, a feature fireplace and views across the shingle beach, and at the back it opens onto the garden. The dining room seats eight with views towards the beach, and the kitchen has a breakfast table and patio doors to the back garden; the dogs can come in from the garden to join breakfast.
Climb to the first floor and the en suite king-size bedroom opens onto a balcony running the full width of the house with views across the bay; a single and a twin complete the floor, and spiral stairs climb to a light and airy loft suite with splendid sea views of its own. Behind the house, the large, fully enclosed pebbled garden has decking for eating outside, a safe and secure space where children and dogs can play while supper is cooked.
Pevensey Bay is famous for its water sports and Martello towers, and Pevensey Castle is close by for anyone with an interest in history. Follow the coast road for 15 minutes to Eastbourne and its famous seafront, or take the Sussex Art Trail through the galleries of Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings. Three adult bikes are provided, and the dogs come home each evening to a house on the beach.
