1 / 24Spring Hills Cottage - Snowshill
Snowshill, Gloucestershire
A two bedroom cottage for four at Snowshill near Broadway, with enclosed gardens on two levels, two king bedrooms and one dog welcome.
There are two enclosed areas outside and they do two different jobs. One is a terrace with the seating and the table on it, arranged for people; the other is grass on its own level, enclosed as well, and that one belongs to the animal. Spring Hills Cottage takes four at Snowshill, five star, dog friendly, two king bedrooms over two bathrooms, with one dog welcome. Splitting the outside in two is the difference between a garden you sit in and a garden something else owns.
Snowshill is the reason the split matters. The village runs up a steep hillside at the top of the escarpment, made entirely of stone, with a church, a manor and a pub in it and nothing else, so a cottage here is a place you come back up to. The grass is where a dog goes to lie down after that climb, and the terrace is where everybody else does.
Evening, and the two levels are being used for their proper purposes. The burner is lit indoors, somebody has carried plates up to the terrace anyway because the light is still on the far hills, and one dog has stayed down on the grass where the day has left some warmth in it. Nothing above 800 feet stays warm long.
A mile down the escarpment, Stanton is the other village on this hillside and possibly the more perfect of the two, one street of gold stone with no wires in the air above it. The path between them runs along the slope through sheep pasture with the whole vale of Evesham dropping away to the north. One dog gets a mile of escarpment and two villages at the ends of it.

Is Spring Hills Cottage - Snowshill dog friendly?
Yes, Spring Hills Cottage welcomes one dog. The cottage has been thoughtfully set up with dogs in mind — there's a dedicated enclosed grass area outside that's essentially theirs to use, separate from the terrace where the seating and dining table are arranged for people.
Are dogs allowed at Spring Hills Cottage - Snowshill year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your travel dates. What is clear is that the outdoor setup — with an enclosed grass area for dogs — works well across the seasons, though at 800 feet on the Cotswold escarpment, it won't stay warm for long come evening.
What should I know before visiting Spring Hills Cottage - Snowshill with my dog?
Only one dog is welcome at the cottage, so it's not suited to multi-dog households. The surrounding area is excellent for walking — a path runs along the escarpment between Snowshill and the nearby village of Stanton, about a mile through sheep pasture with views across the Vale of Evesham, so your dog will be well exercised. Snowshill itself is a steep hillside village, so expect some climbing on any outing.
