The front of this barn is mostly glass. Two sides of it are glazed from low down, so the kitchen, the table and the seating behind them look straight out over the garden all day. The Big Barn at Low Farm takes six at Winterton-on-Sea, dog friendly, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an exposed brick wall behind the burner and three dogs welcome.

Two of the bedrooms are twins at ground level with the beams showing, and the family bathroom is down there with them, so most of the sleeping happens on the same floor as the garden door. The king is up the stairs with its own shower room, and beside it a second sitting room with a sofa bed and a Juliette balcony. Three dogs get brick to lie against and a wood burner to lie in front of.

Two sitting rooms in a house for six is the fact to hold on to, because it means six people and three dogs are not all in one room by nine in the evening. The patio garden is enclosed and private, furniture out on it and a barbecue built of brick at the end, and it opens off the lounge. There is fishing on site for anybody whose idea of a morning involves sitting still.

The beach is 0.6 miles from the door and Winterton's is a wide one, sloping gently, and open to dogs in every month. The village stands where this coast turns its corner and starts running west, the sea on one side of it and level country behind. Three dogs get a long tideline before breakfast and quiet lanes for whatever the rest of the day turns into.
