The Dairy at Solbury is a beautifully refurbished, semi detached country cottage on a working farm, backing onto rolling countryside with far reaching views and within easy reach of the Pembrokeshire coast. It sleeps five and welcomes two dogs, a dog friendly base for walkers and beach lovers alike, with Broad Haven North and Little Haven a short drive away.

The spacious hallway takes the coats and walking boots, and once those are off the dogs head for the cosy lounge, with its comfy seating, tasteful decor and warming wood burner. A step down leads to the light and airy kitchen and diner, the real heart of the home, with wonderful views across the fields and the garden and a door from the dining area straight out to it. On the first floor, a split level landing leads to a family bathroom, a king size zip and link that can be a twin, a single with views to the front, and a spacious master double.

Outside, the pretty enclosed garden has garden furniture and a summerhouse, the spot for morning coffee with views over the fields and beyond while the dogs make their rounds. Families and couples will find it equally easy to settle into.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and its coastal path bring an array of walking routes, and the beach is 2 miles away, so the dogs can have fields one day and the coast path the next. Haverfordwest, the castle town, has plenty of shops and interesting eateries, and Oakwood theme park is a short drive for the thrill seekers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Dairy At Solbury dog friendly?

Yes, The Dairy At Solbury welcomes dogs. The cottage has an enclosed garden, a deep hallway designed for dealing with wet dogs and muddy boots before you go any further inside, and a summer house at the far end of the garden that, going by past visits, dogs tend to claim as their own.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Dairy At Solbury year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the owner when you book. What the cottage does offer regardless of season is a practical setup for dogs — enclosed outdoor space, a proper boot room hallway, and nearby beaches that tend to be quieter than the busier spots further south.

  • What should I know before visiting The Dairy At Solbury with my dog?

The garden is enclosed, which is worth knowing if your dog needs a secure space to roam. The hallway is genuinely deep enough to sort out coats, boots and wet dogs before you open any other doors, which makes a real difference after a beach walk. Druidston Haven is 2.7 miles west — a long, quiet stretch of dark sand that takes a good hour to walk end to end and doesn't draw the crowds, so off-lead walks are a realistic option.
