1 / 16The Granary Store
Woodrising, Norfolk
A single storey cottage for up to three at Woodrising in rural Norfolk, with a super king bed, an enclosed lawned garden with a fire pit and two dogs welcome.
Behind the owners' house at Woodrising, out of sight of the lane, The Granary Store is a single storey dog friendly cottage in the middle of the Norfolk countryside, built to be as sustainable as they could make it. It has a super king bed, a sofa bed for a third, and room for two dogs.
The terrace is the heart of it. French doors open from the living room onto a patio with furniture, a fire pit and a gas barbecue, looking over an enclosed lawned garden, and this is the part that belongs to the cottage and where two dogs can be left to it. Past that is the rest of the grounds, which are shared with the owners, so the dogs come back to the lawn when it is time to potter.
Inside is one open room full of light, with the kitchen and breakfast area at one end and big windows over the garden, then the bedroom and a shower room with a seat. There are no stairs anywhere, which an older dog will appreciate as much as its owner. Swallows skim round the buildings and red kites turn over the fields, and in the evening, with the fire pit lit and the dogs flat out, there is not much else to hear.
This is quiet farming country in the middle of the county, with footpaths and cycle routes through it and a dog's walk from the gate. Thetford Forest and the Pingo Trail, its ponds left behind by the last ice age, are within reach, and Hingham, Watton and Wymondham are the nearest market towns, with Norwich further east.

Book with cottages.comFrequently Asked Questions
Is The Granary Store dog friendly?
Yes, The Granary Store welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has an enclosed lawned garden where dogs can roam freely, accessed through French doors from the living room, with a fire pit and patio furniture making it a lovely spot for owners too.
Are dogs allowed at The Granary Store year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, so it's worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the rural Norfolk setting and the cottage's year-round appeal, it's well set up for visits in any season.
What should I know before visiting The Granary Store with my dog?
The enclosed lawned garden belongs to the cottage and is the space where dogs can be left to roam, but the wider grounds are shared with the owners, so dogs should come back to the lawn when exploring further afield. The cottage is single storey throughout with no stairs anywhere, which is a real bonus for older or less mobile dogs. Beyond the gate, there are footpaths and cycle routes through the surrounding countryside, and Thetford Forest and the Pingo Trail are within reach for longer adventures.
