1 / 17The Hutch
Sutton-on-Sea, Lincolnshire
A two bedroom retreat in the coastal village of Sutton-on-Sea, close to miles of sandy beach, with a conservatory looking onto the garden and one dog or two small dogs welcome.
The Hutch makes a dog friendly retreat in the popular coastal village of Sutton-on-Sea, with miles of sandy beach close by and the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds on the other side for long country walks with a dog. It sleeps two, with a double and a single, and welcomes one dog or two small dogs.
From the hallway, the cosy lounge and dining area opens on the right, with two comfortable sofas round a gas fire, the Smart TV, and a table for four. Patio doors lead through to a conservatory where two reclining chairs look out into the garden, a lovely place for a morning cup of tea while the dog keeps watch beside you.
After the beach, the rear porch is the way in, leading to both the front and the rear garden, so sandy paws and coats come in that way. In the kitchen are an electric oven with gas hob, a microwave and a washing machine, the bathroom pairs a shower over bath with a separate WC, and at the back an enclosed paved garden has a table and four chairs where meals can be taken outside, the dog underfoot.
The seaside town of Mablethorpe offers an array of shops, cafes and amusements, and Skegness brings Natureland Seal Sanctuary and Fantasy Island. Gibraltar Point nature reserve is close by too, and there are numerous coastal and wold walks to enjoy with a dog. Lincoln, with its castle, cathedral and bespoke shops, makes a day trip, as does Hull over the impressive Humber Bridge.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is The Hutch dog friendly?
Yes, The Hutch welcomes dogs. The owners allow one dog, or two if they are small — and they've stated this upfront, which saves the usual back-and-forth before booking. The cottage has an enclosed paved garden and a rear porch designed to handle the inevitable sand and wet from days on the beach.
Are dogs allowed at The Hutch year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so there's nothing to suggest they aren't welcome throughout the year. If you're visiting outside peak season, it's always worth confirming directly with the owners to be sure.
What should I know before visiting The Hutch with my dog?
The key thing to know before booking is the dog policy: one dog is welcome, or two if they are small. The rear porch is the practical heart of the cottage for dog owners — it opens to both the garden and the front of the property, making it the natural place to leave boots, leads and a sandy dog before coming inside. The beach is a third of a mile away, with sand running unbroken in both directions, so there's plenty of room for a good run along the tideline.
