The Manse is a Grade II listed, oak framed town house in the heart of medieval Ludlow, exquisitely furnished and full of period features, with oak beams and traditional windows. One dog over two years old is welcome at this dog friendly retreat, which sleeps four over three storeys.
The way in is through a wooden gate into a pretty walled courtyard, enclosed by traditional brick and stone, with seating, well stocked borders and outdoor artworks including painted tiles and a sculpture. A morning coffee out here, the dog settled beside the seat, is an enchanting way to begin. Inside, the entranceway leads straight up to a charming study on the first floor, with a desk, a bookcase, antique style chairs and a place to hang up coats and boots once the dog is home.
Next door is the impressive lounge, with a red brick fireplace, thick beams overhead, artwork on the walls, comfortable seating and a view of the courtyard, and the dog soon claims a spot in it. On the ground floor the kitchen is a more contemporary space with chic units and a four seater table, and there is a dining room for more formal meals. The two beautifully finished bedrooms are on the second floor: a double with exposed beams and views over the oak framed houses to Clee Hill, and a twin with charming rooftop views.
