The Stable is a charming barn from the 16th century, converted and set on a working farm, tucked away in the Yorkshire Dales between Clapham and Settle, and it was made for exploring with a four legged friend. Four guests and two dogs share it, with fabulous walks straight from the door and views over the surrounding fells, a dog friendly retreat in the truest sense.
Lovingly converted, the barn keeps many of its original features. A wood burner takes centre stage in the relaxing lounge, with the opening logs supplied, and that hearth is the one the dogs will pick while a film plays on the large Apple TV. The kitchen and open plan dining area keep their exposed beams, stone walls, original flooring and an old range, a lovely blend of character and modern comfort, and a welcome pack is waiting when you arrive.
Outside, the beautiful enclosed garden has a large lawn where the dogs can run around, plenty of seating, a patio, a gas BBQ and a hot tub for soaking in the country air while the birds sing in the trees. Upstairs, two spacious kings share the floor with a family bathroom, one of them having its own shower room, and window seats throughout look out over the countryside.
Ingleton is 6 miles away, and the Yorkshire Three Peaks of Whernside, Pen y Ghent and Ingleborough are close at hand for bigger days on the hill with the dogs. Malham, with its cove and nesting peregrine falcons, and the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, with boutique shops, pubs, cafes and fine dining, are both 12 miles off, and the Lake District is within easy reach.
