A refurbished barn conversion for two near Ilston on Gower, looking across fields to Three Cliffs, with a wood burner, an enclosed garden and patio and one dog welcome.

Book now

Three Cliffs View looks across the fields towards the magnificent Three Cliffs, with the Gower Coastal Path walks on the doorstep. This superior barn conversion beside the owner's farmhouse was comprehensively refurbished in 2019, and it is a romantic, dog friendly hideaway sized for a couple and their one dog.

Character beams cross a double height ceiling over a single open plan space for relaxing, cooking and eating. The lounge area has a large, comfy settee, a warming wood burner and a TV with DVD player, and the dog will curl up beside it once the coast path is done for the day. A handy washer dryer is among the kit in the well equipped kitchen. Along the hallway is the pretty double bedroom, with the shower room also on the ground floor, and a mezzanine reached by a ladder makes a quiet spot for a good book.

Outside, an enclosed garden and patio open from the lounge, with garden furniture and a gas BBQ, which the dog will claim for sniffing about in. This sunny retreat leads on to a five acre field where you can burn off some energy, all while looking out to the Three Cliffs beach and coastline.

Country lanes lead down to the golden sands of Three Cliffs, overlooked by Pennard Castle, and the area is superb for wildlife watching, with wild ponies, birds and sea life. Gower, the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, gives the dog plenty to discover, and Oxwich, the Gower Heritage Centre and The Mumbles are all worth a visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Three Cliffs View dog friendly?

Yes, Three Cliffs View warmly welcomes one dog. The enclosed garden opens directly from the lounge, and beyond it guests are free to use the owner's five acre field — which gives a dog far more room to roam than most cottages can offer.

  • Are dogs allowed at Three Cliffs View year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the set-up — enclosed garden, open field, and easy ground-floor access — is well suited to a dog-friendly stay at any time of year.

  • What should I know before visiting Three Cliffs View with my dog?

The barn accepts one dog, and the layout is genuinely practical for them: a secure garden off the lounge leads into a five acre field, and the ground-floor bedroom and shower room mean older or less nimble dogs have no stairs to navigate. The one exception is the mezzanine, reached by a ladder, which dogs can't access. On the walk down to Three Cliffs Bay — 1.9 miles along the lane — keep your dog on the lead through the dunes, as wild ponies graze the burrows on either side of the beach.
