1 / 24Three Peaks Retreat
Llanover, Monmouthshire
A barn for two set in its own grounds at Llanover in the Brecon Beacons, with views of the three peaks, a wood fired hot tub, an enclosed garden and one dog welcome.
Even the dog gets a touch of luxury at Three Peaks Retreat: its very own whiskey barrel bed, with a comfy mattress inside. Set within its own grounds at Llanover, inside the Brecon Beacons National Park, this dog friendly barn for two has uninterrupted views across the three peaks of the Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and Blorenge.
The interiors have been carefully finished with historic items from the farm, which dates back to the 16th century. Inside it is all one open plan space, with bi folding doors across the front of the barn, so the rugged landscape is there from the double bed, from the seating areas and from the uniquely carved breakfast bar. A bean to cup coffee machine makes the morning cup, the dog stretches out in the barrel, and a Smart TV waits for when the day is done, with a walk in shower to start the next one.
The bi folding doors open onto a terrace for relaxing, dining and gazing up at the dark skies, and the wood fired jacuzzi hot tub, logs included, takes in the views after dark. Decking in the enclosed garden holds a table and chairs, where the dog can keep watch over the view while breakfast is eaten outside. Breakfast packs and local produce can be arranged in advance with the owner.
There is a wealth of walking from the front door, and from the grounds of the farm the dog can head up onto Blaenavon Common, where the views reach over the Brecon Beacons as far as the Malvern Hills. The Skirrid, Blorenge and Sugar Loaf make up the Abergavenny three peak challenge, Pen y Fan is further afield, and The Big Pit at Blaenavon is 6 miles away.

Is Three Peaks Retreat dog friendly?
Yes, Three Peaks Retreat welcomes one dog. The barn has an enclosed garden so your dog can roam safely outside, and the owners have put real thought into the details — including a handmade whiskey barrel dog bed by the bi-folding doors.
Are dogs allowed at Three Peaks Retreat year round?
The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend contacting the property directly to confirm availability and any conditions around your stay, particularly if you're planning a visit at a busy time of year.
What should I know before visiting Three Peaks Retreat with my dog?
The barn takes one dog, so it's best suited to couples or solo travellers travelling with a single pet. The garden is enclosed, and Blaenavon Common is accessible on foot directly from the farm's grounds — a proper off-lead stretch without needing to get in the car first.
