Ogmore-by-Sea, Vale of Glamorgan
A split level house for six at Ogmore-by-Sea with four bedrooms, partial sea views, a large enclosed lawned garden with a fire pit, and three dogs welcome.
Three dogs are welcome at Ty Cregyn, a dog friendly split level house in the seaside village of Ogmore-by-Sea, metres from the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Made for a group or a large family, it sleeps six in four bedrooms, with three bathrooms, partial sea views and a large enclosed garden at the back that looks out to sea.
The spacious hallway has a lovely open wooden staircase and plenty of space for coats and walking shoes, the obvious place to hang leads once three dogs are home from the shore. This entrance level also holds the family bathroom, a double with a Victorian drying rack and full size bunks in the room opposite. At the top of the stairs, kitchen, lounge and diner open into one another around a log burner, a long sofa and two large rocking chairs for the sunsets, and the master bedroom across the landing looks out on sea and sky.
The lower level holds a second kitchen and a living area of its own, a shower room and a fourth double that opens out onto the garden. Out there the dogs have a large enclosed lawn with sea views, a patio with seating and a sunken area with a fire pit and barbecue. Bring the dogs' own towels and a bed or basket, as the owner asks, and they will feel at home from the first night.
The house sits between Ogmore-by-Sea beach and Southerdown Bay, with rock pools and fossil hunting on the Jurassic coast just metres below and golden sands and dunes for three dogs to explore. Ogmore Castle and Southerdown Golf Club are both about 2 miles north.

Is Ty Cregyn dog friendly?
Yes, Ty Cregyn welcomes up to three dogs. The house has been thoughtfully set up for them — there's a hallway where dogs can come in straight from the shore without traipsing through the living areas, and a large enclosed lawn at the back that's ideal for letting them roam while you get a meal together.
Are dogs allowed at Ty Cregyn year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and with an enclosed garden and easy beach access just 0.3 miles away, Ty Cregyn seems well suited to dog visits at any time of year. It's always worth confirming directly with the owner when you book.
What should I know before visiting Ty Cregyn with my dog?
Up to three dogs are welcome, and the layout works well for them — the hallway leads directly from the front door to the beach side of the house, keeping wet, sandy dogs out of the main living spaces. There's also a Victorian drying rack in the ground floor bedroom, which comes into its own after a morning on the beach. The enclosed rear lawn gives dogs somewhere to stretch out safely, and the wide sandy beach at Ogmore-by-Sea is just a short walk down the hill.
