Ty Isaf began life in the 17th century as a dairy and grain store, and it is now a luxury retreat in the Vale of Llangollen, dog friendly and made for a couple. One dog is welcome to join you, and the private enclosed garden, with its own bubbling hot tub, is where the three of you will spend the best part of each day.
The conversion keeps its original character, and underfloor heating is among its little luxuries. The lounge has the original bread oven, an electric wood burner effect fire, satellite TV and comfortable sofas, and the dog will claim a warm spot by the fire after a full day out. The galley kitchen leads through to a boot room with drying facilities, for coats and leads.
Upstairs, the open bedroom is made for deep sleep, with a king size bed, TV and a stylish en suite, a lovely room to wake up in. Out in the enclosed garden there are pretty borders, the hot tub and a paved patio for dining al fresco, with a charcoal BBQ for the cooking, and you can sit out from sunrise to sunset with bird song while the dog settles beside you on the patio.
From the garden you can walk down to the river for fishing, or through the owners' garden to a private gate onto the golf course, with shared access to both. Llangollen sits on the River Dee with cafes, pubs, independent shops, a steam train and a horse-drawn canal boat, and strolls along the canal and the river, or out on the hill and mountain trails, give a dog fabulous walking. Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the National Trust's Chirk Castle are both within 5 miles.
