1 / 24Woodlands House
Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire
A five star farmhouse for twelve on a 2000 acre estate of farm and woodland in Buckinghamshire, with a hot tub, an enclosed courtyard and lawns, and two dogs welcome.
Woodlands House is a beautiful detached farmhouse set in 2000 acres of farm and woodland in Buckinghamshire, a five star, dog friendly retreat for twelve and a fine base for keen walkers. Ample footpaths lead out into the surrounding woodland, so walking boots and two dogs are the first things to pack.
The farmhouse kitchen and diner sets the tone, with a characterful beamed ceiling, a stone floor, an electric range oven and a farmhouse table for lazy breakfasts. Just off it, the utility room has outside access, a great spot for muddy boots and coats after a morning in the woods with the dogs. There is a beautiful dining room for the whole family to sit down together, and the lounge has comfortable seating, a smart TV and a cosy wood burner.
Six bedrooms and four bathrooms sleep the party, one bedroom on the ground floor with an en-suite, and a staircase from the kitchen climbs to a super king room with an extra single bed. On the second floor, two bedrooms sit under sloped ceilings with skylights that let the light flood in. Outside is a spacious enclosed area with a courtyard, seating and lawned spaces for al fresco dining, the two dogs stretched out beside the table, and there is a hot tub and barbecue too.
Beyond the estate, the Chiltern Hills bring lovely scenery and fantastic country pubs for the end of a long walk with the dogs. London restaurants are around 50 minutes away, with minibus transport by arrangement, and a personal chef can be booked for evenings when nobody wants to leave the farmhouse.

Is Woodlands House dog friendly?
Yes, Woodlands House welcomes dogs. The property has an enclosed garden to itself, which gives your dogs a safe space to roam without the need to keep them on a lead the whole time. Burnham Beeches, just 3.5 miles away, also allows dogs off the lead across most of its 500 acres.
Are dogs allowed at Woodlands House year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the property when booking to confirm availability for your dates. What is clear is that up to two dogs are welcome to stay.
What should I know before visiting Woodlands House with my dog?
The key thing to flag before booking is that the house allows a maximum of two dogs — worth confirming early if you're arriving as a large group of twelve, since that limit is firm. On the plus side, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, which is a genuine consideration if you have an older or less mobile dog who struggles with stairs. The enclosed garden and easy access to Burnham Beeches make it a well-suited base for a dog-friendly stay.
