Brassington Rocks and Harborough Rocks Walk
Derbyshire
Harborough Rocks is a dramatic dolomitic limestone outcrop on the southern edge of the Peak District, crowned at 379 metres and famous for its wide views across Carsington Water and the White Peak plateau. This dog friendly circular from the limestone village of Brassington climbs up past Rainster Rocks, joins a short stretch of the High Peak Trail to reach Harborough Rocks, and loops back through field paths and old lead-mining country.
Dogs can be off lead along the High Peak Trail and on the open tops where sight lines are clear, but the route crosses working farmland, so leads are essential around sheep and cattle and near the trail-side farm at Harborough itself. Terrain is mixed: firm tracks, a few rocky scrambles near the summit, and stiles in the field sections. Parking is on-street in Brassington village near the church; be considerate of residents.
