Golden Sands Holiday Park

Kinmel Bay, North Wales

Yes. Dogs are welcome at Golden Sands Holiday Park, up to 2 dogs per booking.

Golden Sands Holiday Park is a seaside park at Kinmel Bay on the North Wales coast, with direct beach access, caravans and lodges that allow dogs, and dogs welcome in the arcade and the non-carpeted area of The Sandpiper.

The clue is in the name. Golden Sands Holiday Park sits at Kinmel Bay on the North Wales coast with direct beach access and the Rhyl beachfront close by, and it is a dog friendly park where, as Away put it, your four legged friend is more than welcome.

The lodges and caravans allow dogs, and Away say that includes the Exclusive grades. Choose from Value, Comfort, Superior and Luxury caravans, Luxury Lodges, Comfort Chalets with big windows and plenty of natural light, or the Exclusive Burst of Blue, which brings the wow-factor. There are many private hot tubs with views of the North Wales coastline, and the dogs of Exclusive guests receive a welcome goody bag.

Dogs are welcome in the non-carpeted area of The Sandpiper Restaurant and Sports Bar, a family friendly venue that serves food and drink throughout the day and shows big sporting events, and in the arcade too, with no booking needed to eat. From 4 April the park also runs its Doggy Pawgramme of specially designed activities for dogs, with a doggy menu alongside. As across the park, dogs stay tethered, mess is picked up, and no dog is left alone in a holiday home.

Rhyl, less than 10 minutes' drive, carries a dog friendly tag on the Away list, and so do the Rhyl Miniature Railway, The Harbour and The Ffordd Derwen pubs, and Gwrych Castle. Further from the park, Snowdonia National Park, which Away single out for avid dog walkers, the oak woodland trails at Llyn Padarn, Betws-y-Coed and Conwy are all marked dog friendly too.
