Imperial Hotel

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.

A seafront hotel at the relaxed end of Great Yarmouth, opposite North Beach, where dogs can join you on the glazed Terrace and in Bar Fizz.

The Imperial has looked out over the beach, the sea and the Venetian Waterway Gardens from the relaxed end of Great Yarmouth seafront since the 1930s, and it is still independently owned. A dog friendly hotel of the old British seaside sort, it has North Beach just across the road, so your dog's first leg-stretch is moments from the front door.

A number of rooms are designated for dogs, with a maximum of two dogs to each, so ask about them when you book. Whether a dog may stay unattended in the room during dinner is a point the hotel doesn't state; settle it in advance. Which room types make up the dog rooms the hotel doesn't say, but its Best Sea View bedrooms sit at the front on the first floor, named after wine regions and looking out over sandy North Beach, and two of them have balconies.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you on The Terrace, the fully glazed seafront room with a retractable roof, outdoor heating, cosy blankets and views over North Beach towards Scroby Sands wind farm. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are all served there, from grilled Norfolk kippers to eggs Benedict, and dogs are welcome in Bar Fizz too, where the full wine list comes with table service. Café Cru, the hotel's restaurant with two AA Rosettes, serves dinners and Sunday lunches.

Rooms come with fluffy towels and comfy beds, and the sea view rooms have climate control. Hopton-on-Sea Beach is 5.3 miles off and comes up first among Wildpack's dog friendly beaches, while Burgh Castle Roman Fort and Breydon Water Walk is 4.1 miles away when your dog wants more.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
