1 / 8Kings Arms Hotel
Keswick, Cumberland
Yes. Dogs can stay in most rooms, up to 1 dog per room.
A 17th century coaching inn in the centre of Keswick, where your dog is welcome in the bar and by the lounge fire all day.
Keswick was a crossroads for the horse and carriage routes of the Lake District in the 17th century, and the Kings Arms Hotel, family owned and run in the very centre of town, is a true coaching inn of that period. The building is over 300 years old, and this dog friendly inn keeps a welcome for dogs in the bar and lounge all day, where you can relax after a day exploring the Lakes.
Most of the 13 bedrooms take dogs, one dog to a room, and because of the age of the building no two bedrooms are the same. Room 3, one of the dog friendly rooms, has window seating looking out over Keswick's Market Square. Dog beds and bowls are available on request, so there's no need to fill the car with extra baggage. The inn's pages do not mention if your dog can stay alone in the bedroom during an evening out; ask the team about that before booking.
The cosy bar and lounge are the heart of the place, with a warm glow from the lounge fire and local real ales recognised by the Cask Marque Award, and your dog is welcome in both. Home-cooked meals are served throughout the day into the evening, though dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant itself. On Sundays there are two classic roasts with all the trimmings.
Four of the bedrooms are Superior rooms, with super king-sized beds and a seating area. Two of Wildpack's dog walks are 1.4 miles away: Latrigg Summit Walk from Keswick, and Skiddaw from Keswick for a longer day out with your dog.
