The Clarendon Hotel, a dog friendly hotel in London1 / 8

The Clarendon Hotel

Lewisham, London

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.

A Georgian hotel at the heart of Blackheath Village, with more than 200 acres of heath across the road and two dogs welcome to a room.

The Clarendon sits at the heart of Blackheath Village, a Georgian hotel looking out over the heath towards Royal Greenwich Park. Its address does much of the work for a dog friendly hotel: Blackheath is directly opposite, and more than 200 acres of open space start the moment you step outside.

Dogs stay in selected rooms, a maximum of two dogs to each dog friendly room, and the team wants to know when you book so the right room is allocated. Dogs should be well behaved and kept on a lead while they move through the hotel, and the hotel asks that dogs keep off beds, chairs and other furniture. Owners are responsible for any excessive noise or disruption.

Dogs are welcome in the lobby, the bar areas and the outdoor spaces. Dogs are not permitted in the Meridian Restaurant, one of the oldest in Blackheath. Goffers Bar, next to it, looks over the Heath, and afternoon tea goes out daily in the gardens and the Meridian Restaurant.

Independently owned and run, the hotel holds a VisitEngland Breakfast and Taste Award for its food and has over 100 rooms. Blackheath is the first walk of the day, and when a dog wants more, Wildpack's Greenwich Park Perimeter and One Tree Hill is 0.5 miles away.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
