1 / 8The Fox & Hounds Inn
Danby, North Yorkshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in all rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.
A 1555 country inn in Ainthorpe, in the North York Moors, where well-behaved dogs can stay in any of the ten rooms and settle in the pub.
Dating back to 1555, The Fox & Hounds Inn is a traditional country inn in Ainthorpe, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, with ten en-suite rooms, eight glamping pods and a welcoming bar and dining rooms. Walking and cycling routes run straight from the doorstep of this dog friendly inn, and well-behaved dogs are welcomed in both the pub and the accommodation.
Every room takes dogs, two at most in each, and all ten are en-suite with Freeview televisions and complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water. Superior Rooms are large, with countryside views, and Standard Rooms have a walk-in shower and countryside views from the room. The eight glamping pods are individually heated and dog friendly too, with access to the pub for food, drinks and breakfast.
The inn doesn't mention dogs in the dining rooms either way, so check when booking a table; in the pub, well-behaved dogs are welcome. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with a pub menu built around pies, from chicken, ham and leek to a fish pie of poached and smoked haddock and salmon, and a home-cooked Sunday roast every Sunday. The bar pours Yorkshire real ales, continental lagers and wines, many by the glass.
The inn is Dark Skies Friendly, with binoculars, red torches and sky maps for guests to use, and residents have free access to the local tennis courts. Skinningrove Beach, the dog friendly beach on Wildpack's map closest to the inn, is 7.8 miles away, and Whitby, with its harbour, abbey and beaches, is 17 miles away.
