1 / 8The Galley of Lorne Inn
Ardfern, Argyll and Bute
Yes. Dogs can stay in all rooms.
A 17th century drovers inn on the lochside at Ardfern, seven boutique bedrooms and dogs accepted in all of them, plus the public bar.
The Galley of Lorne Inn sits on the lochside in the village of Ardfern, on Scotland's west coast, an historic 17th Century Drovers Inn whose public bar occupies the oldest part of the building, circa 1680. There are seven boutique bedrooms, recently refurbished, and the inn works as a dog friendly inn without caveats about which room you get: pets are accepted in all rooms.
Pets are permitted in their owners' rooms, in the public bar and around the public area of the grounds, and the inn asks that dogs are supervised at all times. Everything is on one level, with the Uist and Gigha suites recommended for guests with disabilities. Most of the rooms look over Loch Craignish, or over the garden towards the burn and church.
Dogs aren't allowed in the lounge. The Public Bar is where a dog is welcome: a traditional Scottish pub in the oldest part of the inn, with a roaring fire and an ever changing array of real ales. Whether a meal can be taken there with the dog the inn does not mention, so put that question in before you arrive.
The restaurant and function room has a picture window over Loch Craignish and seats 120 for events, with a chef who works with local ingredients including seafood and game. Children are welcome. Kilmartin Glen Cairns and Temple Wood Stone Circles is 3.9 miles away on our walks map, and Port Ban Beach, 12.1 miles out, is the dog friendly beach we put nearest.
