1 / 8The Kingham Plough
Kingham, Oxfordshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in 2 dog friendly rooms.
A beautifully appointed country pub in the Cotswold village of Kingham. Six bedrooms, two of them annex rooms for guests with dogs, a bed and bowl waiting.
Two of the six bedrooms at The Kingham Plough are annex rooms, and those are the ones to book with a dog. The rest of it is a beautifully appointed country pub in the Cotswold village of Kingham, close to Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh. This dog friendly inn reckons a dog should get as much comfort as its owner.
Dogs go in room 5 or room 6, where a bed and a water bowl will be waiting. The six bedrooms are individually furnished in country chic with locally sourced antiques and vintage finds, five super-king beds and one king, duck down duvets, Egyptian cotton sheets and mohair throws. Two of the en-suite bathrooms have freestanding rolltop baths, and the bath products are made locally by Bramley.
Where a dog may eat with you the hotel does not say, so flag it when you book your table. The bar menu runs all day with grazing plates, and the a la carte moves up to pub classics, wood-fired steaks and shellfish straight from the Cornish coast, modern British with a Mediterranean touch. Everything is made in house apart from the sourdough, with Paddock Farm Herefordshire beef, Salt Pig charcuterie and Cacklebean eggs.
Behind the bar there are craft ales and local beers, cocktails and a wine list by the glass or bottle, with a terrace to take them out to. Breakfast is included in the rate. Ask and the inn will suggest walks straight from its own door for you and the dog; Rollright Stones and Little Rollright Circular, on Wildpack's map, is 4.5 miles away.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
