A king size bedroom, a single, and a garden at the back that is larger than the house would lead you to expect. Argate Snickety Top is a dog friendly bungalow for three at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Bridlington, all on the ground floor, with two dogs welcome and a welcome pack that includes something for them.

The kitchen has a door straight out to that rear garden, so the dogs go from their breakfast bowls to the grass in one move. It is enclosed, lawned and fitted with a sunny patio, seating and a barbecue. A sliding oak door separates the kitchen from the living and dining room, where an electric wood burner and a reading corner make the evening. The shower room is built for easy access, and both bedrooms look out over the lawn.

It suits two people and a grown child, or three friends, travelling with a pair of dogs who like a routine. Out through the kitchen first thing, a circuit of the lawn, breakfast on the patio while they investigate the borders, and then down into the town. It is a small, level, easy house, and the garden gives the dogs somewhere of their own for the hours in between.

Bridlington Old Town, with its independent shops and tea rooms, is close, and the harbour below it still lands crab and lobster. The two sandy beaches run away either side, and north along the coast the RSPB reserve at Bempton holds thousands of seabirds on sheer chalk cliffs, where the path runs along the edge and a dog belongs on a short lead. The Wolds roll away inland for gentler dog walking.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Argate Snickety Top dog friendly?

Yes, Argate Snickety Top welcomes up to two dogs. There's a welcome pack that includes something for them, and the whole bungalow is on the ground floor, making it easy for dogs of all ages and sizes to get comfortable.

  • Are dogs allowed at Argate Snickety Top year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the enclosed rear garden and indoor electric wood burner, it looks well set up for a cosy off-season visit as much as a summer one.

  • What should I know before visiting Argate Snickety Top with my dog?

The maximum is two dogs, so it's not the right fit if you're travelling with a larger pack. The rear garden is enclosed and lawned with direct access from the kitchen, which makes it ideal for dogs who like a routine — out for a run before breakfast, then down into Bridlington from there. If you're heading up the coast to Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve, be aware that dogs should be kept on a short lead along the clifftop path.
