As a dog friendly base for the Peak District it has a great deal going for it, not least a fully enclosed garden with a large lawn that is ideal for games and for letting dogs run off steam.
The stylish kitchen has a beautiful flagstone floor, everything needed for a celebration meal, and a breakfast bar for planning the day ahead. Comfy seating surrounds the lounge's wood burner, while a second burner warms the high ceilinged dining room, so there is a fire in whichever room the party chooses, with a warm spot for the dogs. Upstairs are two super king rooms and a double, and the bathroom's stand out copper bath is one of the features of the house.
A converted outbuilding holds the fourth bedroom, a king size with en suite shower room. The enclosed garden itself has a patio with outdoor seating, a BBQ and a large hot tub that seats eight, and evenings finish there in good company while the dogs, happily spent after the lawn, settle on the patio.
Walks lead straight from the doorstep to the famous High Peak Junction visitors centre, along the Cromford Canal, and up the High Peak Trail towards Black Rocks and the Tissington Trail, all good going for dogs. The Heights of Abraham cable car at Matlock Bath is 2 miles away, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both well worth a visit, and the market town of Bakewell on the River Wye makes a lovely afternoon out.
