This was two cottages before it was one. It went up as housing for a pair of estate workers on the Lord Hastings land and it still reads that way inside, with the beams and the odd thickness of wall that a knocked-through pair keeps, which is why a house sleeping five has more ground floor than it needs and two dogs have somewhere to be in all of it. Auckland House ended up as five across three bedrooms at Foulsham in Norfolk, dog friendly, with room on the booking for two dogs.
You come into the lounge, the wood burner at one side and an opening basket of logs supplied with the let, and the kitchen leads off that with the dining table and seating for everyone.
