Bumble Bee Cottage

Easton, East Yorkshire

A two bedroom cottage for four at Easton, a couple of miles inland of Bridlington, with a private enclosed garden facing open fields and a sun trap patio, one dog welcome.

Whoever laid this one out put the kitchen at the front, so the door opens straight onto a hard floor and the muddy half of a walk goes no further. Bumble Bee Cottage sleeps four at Easton, dog friendly, a couple of miles inland of Bridlington, with one dog welcome and a private enclosed garden looking out over open fields.

Past the kitchen a hallway opens into a single living room, dining table at one end and the sofa at the other, with a WC on the same floor. Two bedrooms sit above, a double and a twin, sharing a bathroom between them. The garden at the back is enclosed and holds the sun for most of the day, and a dog will be out in it from about eleven onwards.

The fields behind the garden have gone gold and a dog is lying in the last warm corner of the patio, declining to acknowledge the back door. Somebody has walked up the lane to the garden centre and come back with cake. The sea is close enough to hear about but nobody is going near it before morning, and the evening has quietly rearranged itself around the barbecue.

Bridlington is minutes off, its sands running either side of the harbour with a promenade above them and boat trips leaving for the headland. The Spa on the south front puts on concerts and shows. The Old Town up the hill keeps the galleries, the tea rooms and the better pubs. Being out at Easton rather than in the town means quiet evenings, and open field starting at the fence for a dog that likes a horizon.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Bumble Bee Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Bumble Bee Cottage welcomes one dog. The cottage has been thoughtfully set up for muddy arrivals too — the front door opens straight into a hard-floored kitchen, so wet paws stay well away from the living areas.

  • Are dogs allowed at Bumble Bee Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the enclosed garden and the open fields behind the fence make it a good base whatever the season.

  • What should I know before visiting Bumble Bee Cottage with my dog?

Only one dog is permitted at the cottage, so it's not the right fit if you're travelling with more than one. On the plus side, the private enclosed garden catches the sun for most of the day, and open fields start right at the fence — handy for a dog that needs a good stretch without getting straight in the car.
