At Cow House a gate leads from the enclosed garden into a fenced paddock, set aside for exercising the dog. It is a fantastic barn conversion near Cardington, in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a spacious, dog friendly retreat for eight people and two dogs.

The barn has been creatively designed with accessible needs in mind, with superb level access, a wheelchair friendly wet room and an accessible kitchen. Biomass underfloor heating runs beneath the exposed beams, so the dogs are warm wherever they choose to lie. The porch takes the outdoor gear, and through it the open plan living room, kitchen and dining area is a lovely sociable space, where feature doors open onto the outside and the wood burner is lit for cosy nights.

There are four bedrooms: an accessible zip and link with a sliding door to the wet room, a king size with a Jack and Jill shower room, a twin with en suite facilities, and a super king size zip and link on the upper floor. Outside, the enclosed garden has feature railings, paved areas with feature planting, a table and chairs and a water feature, and the dogs keep an eye on the local wildlife while breakfast is eaten outdoors. Come in lambing season and there are baby lambs to feed.

The dogs can walk the Shropshire Way, and the wider Shropshire Hills take in the Long Mynd, renowned for gliding, and the dramatic scenery of the Stiperstones. The Severn Valley Railway and Ironbridge Gorge are within 15 miles, and Much Wenlock, Ludlow and Shrewsbury all celebrate good food, crafts and theatre.
