1 / 24Cwm Bychan
Gwytherin, Conwy
A lovely bungalow for four at Gwytherin with panoramic views over Snowdonia, a sun room, an enclosed lawned garden and dog bowls ready in the hall, two dogs welcome.
Dog bowls are ready and waiting in the hall at Cwm Bychan, beside the space for coats and walking boots, and that is the welcome two dogs get at this dog friendly bungalow near Gwytherin. Set high and all on a single storey, it looks out across Snowdonia National Park in a magnificent, panoramic sweep.
From the hall you go into the fabulous sun room, with comfortable seating and those views from sunrise to sunset, the room where the two dogs are most likely to be found stretched out of an afternoon. Through double doors are the lounge and the kitchen, well equipped down to an air fryer, and the dining table in the lounge has room for everyone to gather for a meal, a board game or tomorrow's plans. The cosy lounge, with its feature fireplace, is made for a night in.
There is a shower room and two lovely bedrooms, a double and a twin. Outside, the enclosed garden has hedges, trees and a lawn, with a picnic bench for eating outside and the sunshine and views to enjoy, and the dogs have the grass while lunch is laid out.
Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to the national park, is about 6 miles west, where three tributaries meet the River Conwy, and two dogs can spend days among its waterfalls, mountains and woodland. Historic Llanrwst with its Tudor Gwydir Castle is a short drive, the coast at Abergele is around 9 miles north, and Swallow Falls, Bodnant Gardens and the castles at Conwy and Dolwyddelan are all within reach.

Is Cwm Bychan dog friendly?
Very much so — the bowls are already out in the hall before you arrive, which tells you something about how the place is run. Two dogs are welcome, and the setup suits them well: an enclosed lawn out the back, a sun room across the front where they can sprawl in the light, and lanes from the village that carry almost no traffic.
Are dogs allowed at Cwm Bychan year round?
The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions, so it's worth contacting the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. What's clear is that the property is set up with dogs as a genuine consideration rather than an afterthought.
What should I know before visiting Cwm Bychan with my dog?
The bungalow is largely single-storey, which is good news for older or less mobile dogs — the most notable steps are two wide ones between the sun room and the lounge, far less demanding than the staircases you'll find in most cottages. The enclosed lawn at the back is level and has outdoor furniture, and the surrounding lanes above Gwytherin are quiet and largely empty, making for relaxed walking without much traffic to contend with.
