Cwt Godro was once the cow shed where dairy cows were milked, and it is now a luxurious barn conversion that was runner up for Best Renovation at the Showcase Awards 2026. It sits near the village of Llannefydd and its pretty pub, close to a family working farm, and it is a dog friendly retreat for four people and two dogs.

Coats and walking boots come off at the door, and under floor heating runs throughout, which the dogs approve of from the first evening. The living area has a double height ceiling with exposed beams, feature stone walls and a log burner, with a mezzanine library snug for losing yourself in a good book. The kitchen is a sociable space, the dining table in the hall overlooks the garden, and the two bedrooms both have king size beds, one with a wet room and the other with a Jack and Jill bathroom.

Outside there is a covered hot tub and a paved patio with furniture and a charcoal BBQ for dining in the open air, and beyond it the rear garden looks out over the countryside from sunrise to sunset. The garden is enclosed and ideal for the dogs, who will have it explored before the hot tub has warmed up.

Footpaths and cycle routes start nearby, and the hills of the Clwydian Range are there for longer days with the dogs. Abergele is 10 miles away, with golf against the backdrop of Gwrych Castle and a sandy beach to stroll along, and Colwyn Bay, the cobbled streets of Conwy with its castle and harbour, Zip World and Bodnant Gardens are all within 20 miles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Cwt Godro dog friendly?

Yes, Cwt Godro welcomes two dogs. The enclosed garden means they have a safe space to use freely, and the surrounding farm tracks and Denbigh Moors offer plenty of walking without needing to drive anywhere.

  • Are dogs allowed at Cwt Godro year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and nothing in the description suggests otherwise. If you want to confirm availability for specific dates, it's worth checking directly with the property.

  • What should I know before visiting Cwt Godro with my dog?

This is a working farm, which means tractors, sheep and livestock are part of daily life around the property — dogs need to be kept within the enclosed garden, and the gate is treated as the firm boundary of their world. That said, the setup is genuinely well thought through for dogs: the enclosed garden and patio give them room to move, and the ground floor bedroom with its en-suite wet room is a particularly easy arrangement for dogs who struggle with stairs. Two dogs are welcome, but no more.
