Up the garden path and inside, the cottage is thoughtfully designed and full of homely touches. The spacious, bright kitchen has room for a dining table, there is a cosy snug for a quiet hour with a book, and the stylish lounge has comfy sofas and a Smart TV and is warmed by a wood burner effect electric fire. It is here that both dogs stretch out once the walking is done. Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, and the bathroom has a bath with a shower.
Step out to the enclosed garden and there is a lawn where children can run off some more energy and the dogs can join them, a bistro table for breakfast and a stand for the BBQ. A handy shed takes the bikes, and the dog room is ready for the days the walk ends in mud.
Kirkbymoorside has fine pubs and restaurants serving traditional Yorkshire food, shops and a Wednesday market, all an easy stroll with the dogs. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the national park are close by, with the villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham within reach, and the town sits between Helmsley and Pickering. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway, and Castle Howard and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.
