Book now

The garden is huge, and it is at the front. Fox Cottage, at Camerton on the road out towards the Spurn peninsula, is a dog friendly cottage for eight with four bedrooms, two dogs welcome, and a lawned, enclosed garden edged with mature trees that fill up with birds.

In the garden there is a neat lawn, a large patio with plenty of seating and a barbecue. Because it is enclosed, two dogs can be let out to run while the adults stay at the table. French doors from the open plan living space bring the light in and give the dogs a quick route out, and a stair gate is provided for keeping them downstairs.

The layout suits a family with an older relative or an older dog. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, a kingsize with its own bathroom and a bunk room for children, so nobody who dislikes stairs has to climb them. Upstairs are a second kingsize and a twin, both under sloping ceilings, and a shower room. At the heart of it is a big country style table, where a week of meals gets eaten with the dogs underneath waiting for anything that falls.

This corner of Holderness is flat and open, good walking and cycling country, and the owners recommend binoculars: the Spurn peninsula is known for seals and birds. Withernsea's beach and promenade are a short drive for a morning on the sand with the dogs, and Hull, with The Deep, is within easy reach.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Fox Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Fox Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has a large enclosed front garden with a lawn and patio, so your dogs can roam freely while you relax outside, and French doors from the living space make it easy for them to get in and out.

  • Are dogs allowed at Fox Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the cottage is set up with dogs firmly in mind — stair gate included — it's clearly designed for year-round use with pets.

  • What should I know before visiting Fox Cottage with my dog?

The cottage accepts a maximum of two dogs, and a stair gate is provided to keep them on the ground floor if needed. The enclosed garden means they can be let out safely without leads, and nearby Withernsea beach is a short drive away for a run on the sand — though it's always worth checking local beach dog restrictions before you go.
