Hartington Hills is a premium, eco conscious touring, caravanning and camping site between Hulme End and Hartington, where the Staffordshire Moorlands meet the Derbyshire Dales. Its elevated setting has 360 degree panoramic views, and mother and daughter Sue and Amy run it with warm, bubbly hospitality. There are fully serviced pitches and electric tent pitches, immaculate toilets and showers, and a horsebox that serves barista coffee in the morning and becomes a bar in the early evening. It is a family and dog friendly site.
The dog walking field covers 2 acres, with paths mown around the outside and a labyrinth mown into the meadow grass. Dogs are kept on leads there to protect them and the free range hens, and dogs on the pitches carry a nightly charge. From the site, circular walks head to Hartington village, up Ecton Hill through the Manifold Valley and over Wetton Hill to Wetton, and a pub is 0.7 miles away.
