Hayfield Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a gateway to the Dark Peak region of the Peak District National Park, surrounded by hills and gently babbling streams and hugely popular with walkers. It is a Club owned site looked after by Holiday Site Managers, with grass and hardstanding pitches, backpacker facilities, a shop and a children's play area. Pets are welcome, so the dog can share every day in the hills, and Hayfield village, with its shops and a pub within a mile, is a short walk away.
You can walk out of the site onto one of the Peak District's best known routes, up to Kinder Scout, its highest point, which starts from the nearby Bowden Bridge car park and asks for a fair bit of effort. For gentler days with a dog there are easier walks at Ladybower Reservoir and Snake Woodland, and Peveril Castle in Castleton has views of the Hope Valley. This is a dog friendly base for every pace.
