Glorious walks leave right from the doorstep of Lane End, in the pretty village of Crich where the Derbyshire Dales begin, and pubs, cafes, a bakery and local shops are all within walking distance. Eight guests and three dogs fit in comfortably, and between a fully enclosed garden and a hot tub, this dog friendly cottage is an easy one for a group to settle into.
Coats and boots go in the entrance hallway, and the dogs lead the way into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the social heart of the house. Ten can sit round the large dining table for a celebratory meal, a utility area just off the kitchen holds the laundry and the dishwasher, and the living area has a big corner seating unit and a Smart TV for the evening.
A ground floor single with its own Smart TV is ideal for lazy lie-ins, and there is a downstairs WC. Upstairs, one double is en-suite, another double and a twin share matching fabrics and furniture, and there is a further single and the family bathroom. Out in the fully enclosed garden, a patio, lawn and large picnic bench take care of meals in the open, and after a day in the Peak District the hot tub waits while the dogs sprawl on the lawn.
Crich has the Tramway Village, and the village was the setting for the fictional Cardale in the TV series Peak Practice. Matlock and Matlock Bath are 6 miles away, with the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham, Bakewell and Chatsworth are 15 miles off for a longer outing, and closer to home the dogs have walks starting at the front door.
