The entrance hall has a utility area, and the lounge is a spacious communal room with ample comfortable seating and music from the hi-fi, the wood burner central to it all. That is where the three dogs end up once the logs are lit. The kitchen/dining room has everything for cooking, including a dishwasher and a tumble dryer.
Downstairs, one double has a zip and link bed (a twin by arrangement) and its own en-suite shower. The second double is on the first floor, its sloping period beamed ceiling giving it old world charm and character, with a bathroom close by. Out through the French doors, the cottage garden has a patio and a BBQ for supper outside, and the dogs can explore it while the coals heat up.
Charlbury has four good pubs and a selection of interesting shops, and its main line station runs to Oxford and London. A regular bus goes to Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, Burford and Chipping Norton are close, and further afield lie Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Moreton in Marsh, with footpaths and bridleways for the dogs wherever you stop.
