Book now

Moelwyns Retreat is a cosy stone cottage on the outskirts of Blaenau Ffestiniog, made for couples and their canine companions, and two dogs are welcome. Exposed beams and flagstone floors keep its traditional charm, and with rolling hills and the green of Snowdonia all around, this dog friendly retreat has plenty to do right on the doorstep.

Inside, everything happens in one open plan room where a feature stone fireplace takes centre stage, its wood burner ready with the first logs provided. The creatively designed kitchen is a lovely space for cooking with local produce, and after dinner the Smart TV and the holiday plans come out while two dogs lie on the flagstones by the fire.

Up the stairs is a spacious double room, with a Smart TV, and its en suite is where a leisurely shower starts the day. Outside, the enclosed paved garden at the front is furnished for eating out, charcoal BBQ and all, a place for dinner al fresco with two dogs for company, and it is the spot to watch the steam train and take in the views from sunrise to sunset.

Cwmorthin Waterfall is a 1.5 mile walk away, and Llechwedd, with its deep mine tours and Zip World Caverns, is the same distance. Beddgelert and Coed y Brenin Forest Park have many footpaths and cycle routes for two dogs to stride out on, a lockable bike bar at the cottage takes the bikes, and Portmeirion and the coastal path at Borth y Gest are within reach when the dogs fancy the coast.

We research every description carefully and believe it to be accurate, but details can change. Please confirm anything important, especially dog rules, with the booking agent or property owner before you book.
