Moor Farmhouse is a charming and peaceful home in a rural hamlet within the North York Moors National Park, about 8 miles north of Kirkbymoorside and far from the hustle and bustle. Full of history, it keeps original features such as a Victorian cast iron range alongside plenty of contemporary touches, and this dog friendly farmhouse welcomes six guests and two well behaved, quiet dogs up to medium size.
Inside, the spacious kitchen and diner has all the mod cons, and underfloor heating warms the stone floors, which the dogs appreciate as much as anyone. The cosy lounge has a wood burner to snuggle up in front of with a good book, and warm woods and neutral tones keep the house light, airy and spacious. A convenient utility room sits downstairs, as does a vast family bathroom, roll-top bath and separate shower included.
Upstairs are three generous bedrooms, a king-size, a double and a twin, all with TVs, and a second bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower. Dogs are kindly asked to stay out of the bedrooms and off the furniture, and not to be left unattended in the cottage unless they are happy to be caged and unlikely to bark (no cage is provided). Outside, an enclosed garden with a wire fence leads directly from the property, a large lawn that children and dogs will love running around, and a stone patio.
The pub is less than 100 yards away, an easy evening stroll with the dogs, and the Farndale Store stocks the essentials. The national park is full of market towns and villages with tearooms, cafes and restaurants, Helmsley and Pickering among them, and the quiet countryside all around makes for peaceful walking with two dogs.
