The beach and the promenade are a short walk from Nala's Cottage, and it is set up for people who bring dogs to both. Five people fit in this dog friendly house at Skegness, three bedrooms, two dogs welcome, and a pack of doggy extras waiting for them.

At the back there is an enclosed garden, paved rather than lawned, and the French doors from the kitchen and dining room open straight onto it. That makes it the easy place to let two dogs out first thing and to shake the sand off them after the beach, and the utility room can wash and dry the towels. There is coarse fishing on the site as well, so there is water close by and the dogs are best on a lead beyond the garden.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms: a super king, a room with two singles that can be zipped into one big bed, and a single, with the family bathroom between them. A stairgate and a fireguard are provided for small children, and the stairgate works as well on a dog that has been told to stay downstairs. Evenings are simple: fish and chips on the way back from the sea, and two dogs asleep before the plates are cleared.

Skegness beach is 0.5 miles away, wide and flat at low tide, with the pier and the seafront at one end. South of the town the dunes and salt marsh at Gibraltar Point make a quieter walk, a nature reserve at the mouth of the Wash. Inland the Lincolnshire Wolds rise in low green hills, a change of scene for a dog that has had its fill of sand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Nala's Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Nala's Cottage welcomes up to two dogs and has clearly been set up with them in mind. There's an enclosed paved back garden for letting dogs out first thing or shaking off the sand after the beach, a utility room to wash and dry towels, and a pack of doggy extras waiting on arrival.

  • Are dogs allowed at Nala's Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and the cottage is presented as a dog-friendly base throughout. For confirmation of availability at specific times of year, it's worth checking directly with the property.

  • What should I know before visiting Nala's Cottage with my dog?

The cottage takes a maximum of two dogs, and the enclosed back garden is paved rather than lawned — handy for keeping things clean but worth knowing if your dog prefers grass underfoot. There is coarse fishing on the site, so dogs are best kept on a lead beyond the garden near the water. A stairgate is provided, which can also be used to keep dogs downstairs if needed.
