Chapel St Leonards Beach

Lincolnshire

Dog Friendly Rating:7/10A wide, sandy beach backed by dunes and part of the Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park, with a seasonal dog-free zone of 400m either side of the central pullover from 1 May to 30 September.

Chapel St Leonards Beach is a long, sandy stretch of the Lincolnshire coast backed by grassy dunes, forming part of the Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park which runs for five miles between Sandilands and Chapel St Leonards. The beach is wide, flat and open with a traditional seaside character: there are cafes, beach huts and amenities near the central pullover. The dunes behind provide a sheltered walking environment and support a variety of wildlife through the country park. The beach connects north toward Ingoldmells and south toward Sandilands and Moggs Eye, making it a useful hub for longer coastal walks.

Chapel St Leonards is listed as a dog friendly beach, though a seasonal restriction applies to a 400-metre zone on either side of the main central pullover from 1 May to 30 September under the East Lindsey PSPO. Outside this central zone, the beach is accessible to dogs year-round. The vast sandy beach either side of the restricted section offers plenty of space for dog walking even during the summer months, and the dune system behind is also accessible. Parking is available near the central beach access.
