Book now

Primrose Retreat comes with its own enclosed paddock, and anyone bringing dogs is welcome to exercise them there. This dog friendly cottage at Crowton, near Northwich, sleeps four on a single level and welcomes three dogs, and the owner may accept more on enquiry.

The spacious hall has a boot room and store to the right, a good first stop for muddy boots, before the dogs trot on ahead into an open plan room that is lounge, kitchen and diner in one, which looks out over the garden through patio doors. The dining table is placed by the window to enjoy the views, and the kitchen carries an air fryer, a coffee machine, a washer and a tumble dryer. Patio doors lead from the king bedroom straight to the garden, and the super king zips apart into twins on request. A stylish shower room completes it.

The enclosed garden outside is lawned, with established hedges, trees and shrubs, and the patio holds a table and chairs, a pizza oven, a chiminea and a gas BBQ. Through the gates is a second enclosed area by the pond, another spot for a BBQ or a cold drink looking over the water. Table football waits in the games room, and while the pizza oven gets going, the dogs patrol the grass.

The cottage is 6 miles from Northwich, and walking and cycling are good from the door. Delamere Forest is close by for long mornings under the trees with the dogs, with Go Ape there too, and the falconry centres at Vale Royal and Cheshire Falconry are within 5 miles. Chester, Dunham Massey and Jodrell Bank make good days further afield.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Primrose Retreat dog friendly?

Yes, Primrose Retreat welcomes up to three dogs, which is a generous allowance for a two bedroom cottage. Outside, there's a fully enclosed garden so your dogs can roam safely, and the patio with chiminea makes for a great spot to wind down with them after a day out.

  • Are dogs allowed at Primrose Retreat year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your travel dates. The enclosed garden and chiminea do make it a particularly appealing option in cooler months, keeping the outdoor space usable well into the evening.

  • What should I know before visiting Primrose Retreat with my dog?

The cottage takes up to three dogs, so it's worth confirming this allowance covers your pack before booking. On the practical side, there's a washer and dryer on site — genuinely useful after a muddy week of walking — and Frodsham Hill nearby offers a full morning's worth of ridge walking across sandstone scarp with big views over the Mersey estuary.
