Robsons is a traditional Lakeland stone terrace on a quiet street in Keswick, with the town's shops, cafes and restaurants about 500 metres away, so it is easy to leave the car for the week. This spacious dog friendly house sleeps six, with a cosy log burner and an enclosed suntrap of a garden, and two dogs are welcome, only one of them a large breed.
The hallway keeps its original floor tiles, cornice and features. To the left, a pretty bay window floods the lounge with light around the log burner and Smart TV. Next door, French doors lead from the dining room to the garden, and from the breakfast table you can watch the dogs nose about outside. A step down leads into the kitchen, refurbished in 2026, with a utility area and WC beyond.
The mid landing holds a roll top bathroom and a shower room, both refurbished in 2024. The main landing above has three pretty bedrooms, a double overlooking the garden, a twin and a second double at the front. Outside, the enclosed garden is reached from the dining room or the kitchen, with a patio, seating, lockable storage for bikes and an outside hose that sees off the mud after a fell walk with the dogs.
Wander down to the shore of Derwentwater to hire a boat or hop aboard a cruise, and the sights around the lake open up, from Lodore Falls to Surprise View. Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities, makes a fine first fell for the dogs, Castlerigg Stone Circle is a walk away for panoramic views, and Skiddaw, at over 3000 feet, is the longer, higher challenge.
