Rock Lobster sits at the very top of Flamborough Head, facing east across the sea beside the lighthouse, with the scenic coastal path on hand for a choice of wonderful walks with the dog. Inside, this dog friendly bungalow is light, modern and all on one level, and at the back a large, south facing enclosed lawn looks out to the old lighthouse.
The front porch has a coat stand and a charming window seat for admiring the lighthouse, and the lounge beyond is generously sized, with oak flooring, crisp white walls and an abundance of natural light. Stylish sofas are gathered by the wood burner, and that warm spot is the dog's within minutes of getting back. The bright kitchen and diner overlooks the private garden, with a Scandi style table and two sets of patio doors.
The king size bedroom has sea views, and the twin is just as elegant. Out at the front, pebbles and rope swags set a seaside scene, while out back the enclosed lawn has garden furniture, a charcoal BBQ and sweeping sea views, so supper out there comes with the dog stretched on the grass and the lighthouse in view.
From the lighthouse the coastal path leads to North Landing for a boat trip, on to Thornwick Bay for its caves and to Bempton Cliffs for the puffins, or past the Drinking Dinosaur rock formation with the dog while you look out for seals basking on the shore. Keen walkers can follow it all the way to Bridlington beach, and Flamborough village, 3 miles away, has a Grade II listed Norman church and a castle.
