Three dogs, which in a house this size is the number that changes what you can bring. Roseberry View is a dog friendly farmhouse for ten near Stokesley, standing on a working farm with its garden fully enclosed. Under the stairs somebody has built the dogs a room of their own, with a chaise longue in it.

Indoors is one long open space: a wood burner with the sofas round it, a dining table, a kitchen, and a full size pool table holding its own end. Three bathrooms serve four bedrooms, and one of those bedrooms, on the ground floor, has its own entrance and a wet room built for a wheelchair. It puts a bed at floor level for anybody who would rather not climb, dogs included.

The house takes a whole extended family and gives it room to come apart during the day, ten beds and three dogs arranged between them. The garden is fenced right round, but the farm beyond runs horses and sheep, so the dogs go on leads the moment they pass the gate. A barrel sauna and a hot tub sit on the decking for whoever is still upright.

The windows look at Roseberry Topping, a cone of a hill standing alone above the plain with a lopsided summit left when an old mine working collapsed under it. The North York Moors begin past it and the Cleveland Way runs their northern edge over Osmotherley. Stokesley is 2.5 miles off with a Friday market. Nearer than any of it, the farm's 27 acres come with the house, which gets both dogs walked before the day has been decided on at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Roseberry View dog friendly?

Yes, Roseberry View welcomes up to three dogs. The garden is fully enclosed, and someone has even built the dogs their own room under the stairs — complete with a chaise longue.

  • Are dogs allowed at Roseberry View year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates.

  • What should I know before visiting Roseberry View with my dog?

The garden is safely fenced all the way round, but the farm beyond keeps horses and sheep, so dogs need to go on leads as soon as they pass the gate. On the plus side, the farm's 27 acres come with the house, giving you plenty of space to get a good walk in before you've even planned the rest of the day.
