Southview Cottage was renovated in September 2023 and sits tucked away from the main road in Bognor Regis, reached along a twitten. Five guests and two dogs share it, and as a dog friendly seaside base it puts the sand just 100 metres from the door.
Life centres on the cosy lounge, where comfortable seating faces the Smart TV and an electric fire with a flickering flame effect, and the dogs make it theirs once everyone is back from the shore. The kitchen has a table and chairs and opens into the conservatory, which has a large dining table seating six, more comfortable seating and a Smart TV with Sky Cinema, Sports and Netflix. One bedroom sits on the ground floor just off the lounge, with a 4ft orthopaedic double bed with adjustable settings and its own en suite. Above are the king-size room and the twin, sharing a family bathroom.
A door from the conservatory leads out to the fully enclosed courtyard garden, which acts as a sun trap for most of the day. There is an outside dining table with six chairs and two recliners alongside, so lunch can happen out there, a good book can follow it, and the two dogs can find their own patch of sunshine in between.
The High Street is close by with independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, and the cottage is just off the seafront for an early stroll with the dogs. For keen walkers the South Downs offer a wide variety of countryside walks, the Goodwood Estate is 9 miles away, and the historic city of Chichester, Arundel Castle and Petworth House all make rewarding days out.
