Indoors, the light and airy living space, lounge and dining area in one, looks across the lake to the Sussex countryside with the most fantastic views. The dining table is set before the Juliet balcony, so the French doors can be thrown open over dinner, and afterwards there is a comfy seat and the Smart TV while the dog curls up nearby.
The kitchen looks over the lake too, with a Nespresso machine and a wine chiller among its comforts, and the king size bedroom has the same spectacular view, while the shower room has a generous walk in shower. Outside there is a secluded private patio with a table and chairs overlooking the lake and grounds, where the dog can settle beside you in the open air. A few metres away, the swimming pool in the walled garden is shared with the owners, who live nearby, and guests can use it from mid May to the end of September by arrangement.
Rudgwick has village pubs and farm shops close by, and Petworth, 10 miles away, has independent shops and cafes and Petworth House, home to the National Trust's largest collection of artwork. Chichester, with its famous cathedral and boutique shopping, is a short drive further, and back at the apartment one dog will be ready for the next footpath out from the door.
