The Stables is a spacious luxury hideaway for two at Heversham in south Cumbria, thoughtfully designed as a true one off, and amazing walks run from the door to the fells and beyond. Two dogs are part of the booking, and the dog friendly cottage is an ideal base for the Lake District, the Forest of Bowland and North Yorkshire alike.
The kitchen and diner sets the scene with a bistro table and a SONOS speaker, with a WC alongside on the ground floor. From there, stairs rise to the lounge, a wonderfully light room with triple aspect windows, where comfortable seating faces the log stove under the beamed ceiling. Late night films, a book in the light, two dogs dozing by the stove: that kind of room.
Across the landing, the luxury bedroom has a king size bed made up with luxury bedding and a dressing room with plenty of storage, and beyond it is a spectacular bathroom with a deep bath, a large walk in shower and a heated floor.
