Llannefydd, Conwy
A 16th century gentry house near Llannefydd sleeping eight, refurbished in 2018, with four king bedrooms, a wood burner, a private hot tub, a large enclosed lawn and two dogs welcome.
Ty Ucha is a detached 16th century gentry house, refurbished to an exceptional standard in 2018, set down a quiet lane in peaceful countryside just over a mile from Llannefydd. Eight guests fit in this dog friendly house, along with two dogs, or a third by discussion with the owner, and it has vast walks in every direction and a private hot tub for soaking up the views.
The hallway leads to several rooms, and exposed stone walls and beams run throughout. The kitchen has wonderful oak beams, a fireplace and an Aga, and flows into a large dining room under a double height ceiling, with A-frame beams over the table for family meals. Beyond lies the lounge, seating gathered round its cosy wood burner, and the dogs will claim the hearth once the logs are going.
All four bedrooms have king size beds, and each has an en suite and a Smart TV of its own. One is on the ground floor, another on the first floor has a Juliet balcony over the fields, and the master on the second floor looks like a room in a fairy tale castle, with a roll top bath and super views of the countryside. Outside there is a large patio with seating and the hot tub, an outside shower and a gas BBQ, and a large enclosed lawn where the dogs, and anyone else, can run off some steam.
The village pub at Llannefydd is a pretty one, and Abergele's beach is 5 miles off. Conwy's cobbled streets, the pier at Llandudno and a walk up and around the Great Orme, with majestic sea views, make fine outings with the dogs, and Snowdonia and Bodnant Gardens are an easy drive.

Is Ty Ucha dog friendly?
Yes, Ty Ucha welcomes two dogs as standard, and the setup really is built around them. There's a large enclosed lawn where dogs can run freely, an outdoor shower on the way back in from the fields to keep mud where it belongs, and a ground-floor king-size bedroom with its own bathroom so older dogs don't have to manage the stairs.
Are dogs allowed at Ty Ucha year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, and nothing about the property suggests otherwise — the enclosed lawn, outdoor shower and surrounding lane walks are as good in the quieter months as in summer. If you have specific dates in mind, it's worth confirming directly with the owner when you book.
What should I know before visiting Ty Ucha with my dog?
The outdoor shower is genuinely useful here rather than just a novelty — positioned between the fields and the back door, it's the practical way to keep the house clean after walks in the steep, hedged lanes nearby. The lawn is large and fully enclosed, which makes it safe for dogs off-lead. If you're hoping to bring a third dog, the owner is open to a conversation about it, so it's worth asking.
