Lenham and the Pilgrim's Way Circular
Kent
Lenham is a pretty Kent Downs village with a historic square, a chalk hillside Lenham Cross visible above and direct access to both the North Downs Way and the Pilgrim's Way. This dog friendly circular climbs out of the square onto the escarpment, follows the Pilgrim's Way west along the chalk ridge for big views over the Weald, and loops back through farmland and quiet lanes.
The terrain mixes well-used downland tracks, field edge paths and short road sections, with a sustained climb at the start onto the ridge. Dogs are welcome but should be on lead through the grazed fields, particularly where cattle and sheep cluster around stiles, and rejoin the Pilgrim's Way under control as cyclists and other walkers use it. Park in Lenham village square or in the long stay car park nearby, with pubs and a cafe in the village for after.
