The Cobbler (Ben Arthur) from Arrochar

The Cobbler, also known as Ben Arthur, is one of Scotland's most distinctive dog friendly mountains, famous for its triple peaked summit and the scramble through the rocky window at the top. Rising to 884 metres from the head of Loch Long, the route from Succoth follows a well worn path through forestry and open hillside into the dramatic Coire a' Bhalachain.
Dogs must be kept on lead on the lower slopes where sheep graze, though the upper corrie and summit area are typically livestock free. The final approach to the summit involves some rocky scrambling that may not suit all dogs. The Succoth car park off the A83 is pay and display and can fill up on fine weekends. There are no facilities on the hill itself; the nearest toilets and shops are in Arrochar village, a short drive away.
