1 / 8The Blind Bull
Little Hucklow, Derbyshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in 3 dog friendly rooms.
A 12th century inn at Little Hucklow in the Peak District, where dogs stay in ground floor rooms with private patios and join you downstairs.
Eight hundred years of looking after travellers along the road sit behind The Blind Bull, a 12th century inn at Little Hucklow, deep in the Peak District, restored as a gastropub with rooms. This dog friendly inn welcomes pets on the ground floor of any of its buildings.
Three ground floor rooms in The Old Piggery take dogs, along with The Barn, a stand-alone cottage behind the inn, and each has an external door onto a private patio; the two first floor suites do not. Tell the inn about the dog at booking, keep it off the bedding, and ask for a dog bed and food if you need them. The rooms have big beds, soft sheets and walk-in showers, and The Barn adds a kitchenette and a Clearview log burner.
Downstairs is where you eat with your dog, and the roaring fire is down there too. The menu is the same up or down, refined classics from Derbyshire produce, with locally sourced ingredients cooked over an open fire, but dogs aren't accepted Upstairs, the quieter room with a view of the open hearth and kitchen.
In the rooms you'll find luxury soaps, tea and a Nespresso machine. Further afield with the dog, Wildpack's Eyam Moor and Village Circular Walk is 3.2 miles away, and Chee Dale Stepping Stones from Miller's Dale 3.7 miles.
