The Bulkeley Hotel

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms.

A Grade I listed Georgian hotel on Castle Street in Beaumaris, opposite the pier, where dogs share the bar, coffee lounge and Llewelyn Suite with you.

Beaumaris Pier is directly opposite The Bulkeley Hotel, the beach is directly opposite too, and Beaumaris Castle, a 13th-century World Heritage Site, is just yards from the door. The hotel is a Grade I listed Georgian building that has stood in the heart of Beaumaris since 1832, with 43 en-suite bedrooms, and this dog friendly hotel opens its public areas to dogs with one exception.

Well behaved dogs stay in selected dog-friendly bedrooms, and since only some rooms are pet-friendly, mention yours when you book or the hotel may be unable to accommodate you on arrival. Keep your dog with you once unpacked, as the hotel asks that dogs are never left unattended in its bedrooms. Many of the bedrooms look across the Menai Strait towards Snowdonia, and the four-posters come with that view. The policy doesn't state a dog limit per room, so ask at booking.

Breakfast through to dinner, every menu can be enjoyed with your dog in the Llewelyn Suite, a relaxed yet refined room with the Menai Strait on its doorstep, and the Traditional Coffee Lounge welcomes dogs for coffee and cake. That one exception is Hansom's Dining Room, where dogs aren't permitted; it serves à la carte dinners in Georgian elegance, with a resident pianist at weekends. The bar is the cosiest corner of the hotel, all dark panelling, brass rails and deep armchairs, and dogs can settle in there too while you choose from real ales, local gins and a well-stocked whisky shelf.

With the beach directly opposite and Anglesey's coastal path and woodland walks close by, your dog's walking starts at the front door; Wildpack's Aber Falls (Rhaeadr Fawr) is 4.4 miles away, with Traeth Lligwy, Wildpack's closest dog friendly beach to Beaumaris, at 8.6 miles.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
